Why Take Career Action Now?

Have you ever waited until something got so bad, that you had no choice but to act? Your career is no different; it’s not uncommon to await the ‘bad enough’ moment before acting. For example, redundancy, workplace conflict, exhaustion, burnout, or significant unhappiness being the catalyst for change, rather than taking action at the earliest signs.

The question then becomes, why wait to take action if you’re feeling the nudge (subtle or loud) now?

New York Times Bestselling Author Joe Dispenza wisely states; “We can learn and change in a state of suffering, or we can choose to learn and change in a state of joy and inspiration”.

When you choose to make a change rather than feel forced or feel that change has been imposed upon you, not only is this more empowering, self-loving and beneficial for your confidence, it enables you to consciously design the change. To choose with intention, what it is that you want. You become proactive, rather than reactive. You become internally led rather than externally led; that is, led by self.

When you put yourself firmly in the driving seat of your career, your decisions feel lighter, more inspired, and better aligned to your values, strengths, and personal capacity. When you wait, you risk your decisions being influenced by urgency and pressures such as time, health, and/or financial.

When you take proactive vs reactive action in your career, not only are you far more likely to end up with the right change or shifts in your career, but the self-trust and confidence built through the act of showing up for yourself, holds immense power and creates lasting and profound shifts in not only your career, but in how you feel about yourself within the context of your broader life.
